Laurie O’Leary is a highly experienced travel professional. Over the last 30 years Laurie has been involved in all aspects of a dynamic and changing industry. As the industry has changed, she has adapted to bring innovative solutions to her clients. She is widely recognized by her clients as a true professional with outstanding customer service.
Laurie began her career as an agent in a traditional ‘full service’ travel agency. After five very successful years, Laurie moved into ‘Corporate Travel’ serving such diverse clients as, LSI Logic, Raytheon, Learjet, Westinghouse, Thorn America and Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron 1 (aka: Marine 1 – the US President’s helicopter squadron).
In 1995 Laurie and her family moved to Kansas where she began working for American Express Travel. In 1999 Laurie became the sole travel consultant for Wichita State University. As the traditional travel industry business model became challenged by the arrival of web-based travel sites, Laurie saw an opportunity, and decided to establish her own company in 2005. Laurie’s company, Travelin’ Bugs, contracts with Sunflower Travel as a full service agent while continuing to be the sole agent for Wichita State University. Laurie has several diverse clients traveling in niche markets; through outstanding customer service Travelin’ Bugs and Sunflower Travel continue to prosper.
Laurie grew up in Camillus, New York and has since lived all over the United States. Laurie and her husband John live in Benton, KS.
